Sydney Anne Pexton is a soprano from Salt Lake City, Utah. She has prepared and performed in various operas and concerts with New England Conservatory and Utah Valley University including Die Fledermaus, Les Contes d’Hoffmann, and La Bohème. She most recently attended the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival’s New Music Workshop as a New Music Fellow where she was able to premiere eight pieces as part of the Emerging Artist Series. She also recently performed the role of Little Red in New England Conservatory’s production of Little Red Riding Hood. She has been able to perform roles with programs such as the Lyric Opera Studio Weimar and the Trentino Music Festival. Sydney has also been featured on various concerts as part of New England Conservatory’s Liederabend series where she has been able to work with renowned coaches such as Cameron Stowe, JJ Penna and Tanya Blaich.
Sydney is currently studying with Carole Haber at New England Conservatory where she is pursuing a Master of Music in Opera Performance. At the New England Conservatory she will be performing the role of Elaine in Musto’s Later the Same Evening this fall, covering the role of Despina in Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte this winter, and performing the role of Amore in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea in the spring.
